things that kids do and ask for are starting all over again
in my life.
My grandson is the oldest. He is a very smart child. Im not
saying that because he is my grandson but he really is a
very smart child.
Just a few days ago he asked me, "papa can I have a pet?"
As I looked down at him the hair on the back of my neck
tickled me so bad my frown turned into a smile.
I then got on knee so we can be eye to eye and I asked him,
"what kind of pet?"
He looked me straight in the eye and said, "a puppy."
It only took about 60 seconds to answer him. But in
that 60 seconds my past life flashed in my minds eye.
Here is part of what that flash was all about.
At about the age of 10 I got my first puppy.
Her name was Tippy. A beautiful boxer with
white stockings on all her paws. She walked as if she was
on her tippy-toes.
Now there was three other children in my house who wanted
a puppy but it turned out that Tippy would be my puppy.
Here is why she was only my puppy.
I was the only one who fed her, the only one who walked her,
and the only who trained her.
I cleaned up the mess she made from day one. So she was mine.
And every puppy that came into my family after that, and there
were about 3 more, was mine for the same reasons.
So even though my grandson had the best intentions, I knew
his puppy would be mine in short time and I didnt want
another puppy.

Check back in a few days to see how I handled this
sticky situation.
